The Find tab- searching for a string in the document
With Find, you can perform searches for strings within the document or across open documents. The Find tab features three main controls:
- The editing field where you enter the text to search.
- The Find button to initiate the search.
- The list of criteria applicable to the search.
In the FIND field, you should insert the string you wish to search for within the document. This field has a special list containing the strings entered in previous searches. The number of searches the field stores depends on the setting in the program's general OPTIONS.
The string can consist of simple characters, special sequences composed with a marker, or special wildcard characters.
The field is associated with a contextual menu where, in addition to the cut, copy, and paste commands, there is a submenu called Wildcards containing all the special characters available for use.
