Customize Keyboard Maps
The Keyboard Maps management and customization window allows you to Add, Delete, or Modify Biblos Keyboard Maps. The window features a comprehensive list containing all existing maps, alongside a series of buttons.
- Map List: A list containing all existing keyboard maps. Maps can also be activated or deactivated from this list. Blue-colored maps are distributed with Biblos and cannot be deleted or modified, while green-colored ones are user-created and can be modified or deleted as desired. The first ten maps in the list appear in the main document menu, so you can assign them an activation/deactivation key from the Hotkey management.
- Add: Button to create a new keyboard map.
- Delete: Button to delete a keyboard map.
- Properties: Button to enter the properties of the selected keyboard map, to see its keys or modify them.
- Move Up and Move Down: Arrow buttons to change the position of a map in the list.
- Close: Button to close the keyboard map customization and return to the document.
A contextual menu is associated with the list of Maps. The contextual menu contains additional management commands:
- Move Up and Move Down: Similar to the arrow buttons, these commands allow changing the position of a Map.
- Export: Command to export user-created keyboard maps. Exporting is useful for sharing or saving your own maps to later import into another Biblos installation. The archive file with the exported maps has the extension ".BKA" (Biblos Keyboard Archive). Exporting is divided into two steps: the first step involves choosing the keyboard maps to export; in the second step, you choose the export file name.
- Import: Command to import a previously exported file. Importing is divided into two steps: in the first step, you choose the file to import; the second step displays the Maps to be imported contained in the archive.
- Duplicate: Command to create a user copy of a keyboard map. Duplicating is useful for creating an identical copy of a map to make a variation. Duplication is particularly useful for creating a customizable copy of the keyboard maps distributed with Biblos.
At the bottom of the window, there is a status bar that displays some information about the selected map and the maps in the list. An initial symbol indicates, in addition to the color, whether the selected map can be modified. The symbol "⚠" indicates a blue map distributed with Biblos, while the symbol "✍" indicates a green map created by the user and therefore customizable.
