Biblos 5.85

Update of 05/01/2025

- Biblos now translates the document instead of the screen reader. The braille display can show the text translated into braille by Biblos, using a group or a table, including custom ones. This feature is of exceptional importance-not only for mathematics and Ancient Greek-as it allows for consistency between printed braille and electronic braille.

- In the Braille Settings, under the Advanced tab, there is now a "Document Braille" checkbox from which you can choose the group or table for the braille translation that the screen reader displays. You can choose whether to continue having the screen reader translate the braille, or let Biblos translate the text that will be displayed on the braille display.

- For users who have already installed the scripts for JAWS or the addon for NVDA, no further action is required. For those who have not yet installed the scripts or addon, it is necessary to install them to improve the user experience. Everything can be installed from the Help menu/Install Scripts... For users who do not use a braille display, everything remains the same as before.

- The Italian braille group now also contains the Ancient Greek 6-dot table. By choosing this group for print and/or screen reader translation, it is possible to translate both Italian and Greek text, enabling multilingual braille translation. Soon, the group will also include the table for translating mathematics.

- Thanks to Alexander Isakov for updating the Russian interface.
