The Miscellaneous Tab
This tab contains various settings for document preparation. These settings can be stored only within the currently open document, or in the selected configuration profile, meaning they will be retained as settings for any loaded document.
- Bookmark marking: checkbox to choose whether to print a cell on the margin for each bookmark in the document. The code used for the braille cell can be customized in the following field, “Code”.
- Printing real pages: checkbox to choose how to print the real page elements present in the document. You can choose not to print real pages, letting them appear only in headers and footers (if the appropriate variable is used); you can choose to print real pages in simple mode, meaning as if they were normal text elements; or you can choose to print them at the end of the line, a special mode that aligns the real page at the end of the line, filling the space with a dash. This last mode is particularly suitable for printing school books, as it provides further reading aids. The last two modes use the following field containing the translation template of real pages, which can be customized for printing. The template accepts only one variable, that of real pages: %RP (in decimal numbers) and &RP (in Roman numerals).
- Philological notes: similar to the previous checkbox, here you can choose how and whether to print philological notes. In the following mask field, it is possible to customize the translation template. The template accepts only one variable: %PH (single variable).
- Printing hyperlinks: allows you to choose whether to include hyperlinks in braille printing or ignore them, printing only the visible text of the document. If the option is enabled, the representation of hyperlinks is handled through the print template. Inside the template, you can insert free text and use two special variables, automatically replaced during printing: %TXT replaced with the hyperlink text; %URL replaced with the associated address.
- Page filling: this checkbox allows you to choose how and whether to fill pages with many empty lines. There are several filling styles:
a. Simple fills the page by always using the same braille string entered, for all filling lines (ABCABC / ABCABC / ABCABC);
b. Rotated uses the braille string entered, rotating the cells line by line (ABCABC / BCABCA / CABCAB);
c. Alternated uses the braille string entered one cell per line (AAAAAA / BBBBBB / CCCCCC).
- Codes: checkbox to customize the braille string used for filling. A multi-cell braille string can be entered.
- Minimum limit: checkbox to choose the minimum number of braille lines a page must have in order to use filling.
- Text spacing: checkbox to choose how many blank lines to leave between the page text and the filling.
