Remove Spaces

The "Remove Spaces" tool is designed to optimize document formatting by removing unnecessary spaces that may compromise the appearance and readability of the text. It allows you to specify how many consecutive spaces to keep and offers customizable criteria to intervene only on specific parts of the document, such as spaces at the beginning, end, or middle of the line. It is ideal for those who want clean and uniform text.

The "Remove Spaces" window includes the following fields:

1. Maximum number of consecutive spaces to keep in the document: This field is essential for specifying how many consecutive spaces to retain. If the program finds more consecutive spaces than the specified value, it reduces them to the indicated number. The default value is "1," ideal for most cases. Being an SPINBOX control, the value can be manually adjusted or changed using the vertical arrows or the mouse.

2. List of criteria applicable to removing unnecessary spaces: The criteria determine the behavior of the function and can be toggled on or off based on the needs. The list of criteria is as follows:

- Selected Document: If enabled, removes spaces only from the selected part of the document.

- Forward Direction: If enabled, removes spaces from the cursor to the end of the document. If disabled, it removes spaces from the cursor to the beginning of the document. This criterion has no effect if "Selected Document" is activated.

- Initial Line: If enabled, removes unnecessary spaces at the beginning of each line; otherwise, it ignores them.

- Middle Line: If enabled, removes unnecessary spaces in the middle of each line (neither at the beginning nor the end). If disabled, it ignores them.

- Final Line: If enabled, removes unnecessary spaces at the end of each line; otherwise, it ignores them.

Example of use: To remove all spaces at the beginning and end of lines, set the SPINBOX value to "0" and enable the "Initial Line" and "Final Line" criteria.
