About Me – Giuseppe Di Grande
Accessibility technology. A vision brought to life.
My name is Giuseppe Di Grande. I was born in 1973 and live in Avola, in the province of Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. I am a software developer and creator of inclusive technologies, with four decades of experience in the field of information technology.
In 1995, I lost my sight. From that moment on, my mission became even clearer: to design tools that make the world more accessible, especially for people with visual impairments.
I am the creator of Biblos, the accessible word processor used worldwide by teachers, students, and specialized centers for Braille reading and printing, tactile graphics, and accessible education.
In 2026, I founded IBLARIS Srl, where I serve as Managing Director. The company is an innovative startup established to support, develop, and promote Biblos while creating advanced solutions in the field of digital accessibility. Through IBLARIS, I have taken my vision to a new level, evolving from individual innovation to building a comprehensive ecosystem of inclusive technologies.
I started programming in 1985 on a Commodore 64. In the early 1990s, I worked as a graphic designer for a local television station. Then, at the age of 22, blindness changed my life, but it never diminished my passion for technology.
Programming is my primary means of expression, but I enjoy pushing beyond conventional boundaries. I am drawn to challenges: the greater they are, the more they inspire me to innovate, create, and share.
I have been vegan since 2013. It was an ethical and conscious choice, just like everything I do.
Technical Expertise
My work is built on broad and well-established expertise, developed through decades of study, software development, and knowledge sharing. I do not simply use technology. I design it, invent it, and put it at the service of inclusion.
