The Braille tab

This tab contains settings for the transcription of some braille elements. These settings can be stored only in the open document, or in the chosen configuration profile, meaning they are maintained as settings for any loaded document.

- Cell Width: box to set the width of a braille cell, useful data for conversion and the correct interpretation of document formatting;

- Cell Height: box to set the height of a braille cell, useful data for conversion and the correct interpretation of document formatting;

- Calculate Cells: the button allows to identify the correct values for the width and height of a braille cell, calculating them based on the ratio between sheet size and braille characters and lines;

- Uppercase Words: box from which you can choose whether Biblos should detect the presence of entirely uppercase words. Three modes are available: "Do not detect" to tell Biblos not to add any prefix to uppercase words; "Only initial" to tell Biblos to add only the prefix at the beginning of each uppercase word; "Initial and final" to tell Biblos to add prefix and suffix for each uppercase word.;

- Uppercase Paragraphs: box from which you can choose whether Biblos should detect the presence of paragraphs written entirely in uppercase. Four modes are available: "Do not detect" to tell Biblos not to add any prefix to paragraphs written entirely in uppercase; "Only initial" to tell Biblos to add only the prefix at the beginning of each uppercase paragraph; "Initial and final" to tell Biblos to add prefix and suffix for each uppercase paragraph; "Classic mode" to tell Biblos to add the uppercase prefix at the beginning and the uppercase suffix at the beginning of the last word of uppercase paragraphs;

- Date and Time Type: box from which you can choose whether Biblos should detect the presence of numbers referring to date and time. When detecting date and time, the appropriate special prefixes are used for the preparation of the correct separators;

- Hyphenation Type: box from which you choose how Biblos should intervene in the hyphenation of words or numbers;

- Print Styles: box from which you can choose whether to print character styles, and in which mode to print them. The Biblos Method allows to print all styles: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough. The prefixes for the various styles are contained in the braille tables. The Classic Method allows to partially print styles, respecting the traditional way of printing them. Specifically, only bold and italic styles are considered;

- Ignore justified paragraph format: if this box is checked all justified paragraphs are printed as if they were left-aligned. If the box is unchecked, paragraph justification also occurs in braille;

- Ignore character spacing: if this box is checked, the spacing between characters is not detected. If it is unchecked, spacing is also respected in braille;

- Ignore character position: if the box is checked, superscript or subscript characters are printed as normal characters. If the box is unchecked, the superscript and subscript position of characters is detected and translated with the appropriate special prefixes;

- Roman numerals in lowercase: if this box is checked, all Roman numerals detected in the text are printed in lowercase, therefore without the special uppercase prefix. If the box is unchecked, Roman numerals are printed with a single uppercase prefix.
